After sailing the eastern coast for one
summer, I've grown to have a deep affinity for lighthouses,
rocks and the power of the sea. The first time I saw Peggy
Cove it was in the late spring at seven in the morning
surrounded by a thick spring fog, slowly being burned off by a
morning sun. I fell in love with the contrast of soft pastel
shades and the harsh reality of the ever moving sea. I was to
learn that fog that follows the coast line is sometimes
called, "sea smoke". This view is from a good
kilometer away. Climbing over all these house size boulders to
do the sketches and taking all the photos for four hours, I
could hardly move the next day.
